A human with feelings. Used to exuding confidence wherever he steps, Khamzat Shimaev gave a clear signal that he could get emotional. Close to promoting the biggest fight of his MMA career, the Swede made a touching outburst about his mother and explained why he needs to become a mixed martial arts star. The combatant faces Gilbert Durinho this Saturday, at UFC 273.

“She (mother) always thought of us. When I was young, she didn't understand the way she fed us. She waited for us to finish eating and fed on what was left. Now, I'm older and I understand her reasons. Now, the time has come to give back. That's why I always feel like I need to make her life the best it can be,” said Chimaev, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Considered the big bet for the future of the UFC, Khamzat did well all four times he stepped into the Octagon. With confident performances, the Swede massacred all his opponents on the fast track and was barely touched.
