A few days ago, Dana White announced his intention to schedule a duel in the welterweight category between the Canadian Rory McDonald and the North American Robbie Lawler. Now, the important fight has a date and location.

MacDonald and Lawler will face off in Las Vegas, at UFC 167, which will be held on November 16th, as announced by the website MMAjunkie. The contracts have not yet been signed, but both fighters have already entered into a verbal agreement.

The two fighters last performed (and won) at UFC On FOX 8, on July 27th. At the time, MacDonald received a lot of criticism for not finishing the fight against Jake ellenberger. Lawler scored a spectacular knockout with a high kick over Bobby Voelker.

UFC 167 will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between the champion Georges St Pierre and the challenger John hendricks. The winner of the clash between MacDonald, St. Pierre's friend and training partner, and Lawler could be very close to being announced as the next person to try for the category title.
