Number two in the flyweight division, Askar Askarov provokes Brandon Moreno and predicts a title fight after UFC Columbus

The Russian athlete accused the former champion of only choosing easy fights and believes that Kai Kara-France could be his last opponent before a title fight

Considered one of the main prospects in the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg), Askar askarov believes he is 'just one step' away from a title shot. During the media day of the ufc columbus, the Russian athlete believes that a triumph over Kai Kara France will put him in a fight for the world title and took the opportunity to provoke the former champion Brandon Moreno.

“I think this fourth fight will be the last between Brandon Moreno and (Deiveson) Figueiredo… and I think whoever wins this Saturday, me or Kai Kara France, is next in line for a title shot,” said Askarov.

“(Brandon) Moreno, after winning, he always chooses his opponents who are the easiest fights. He knows I beat him and I can still beat him. I am the king of this jungle. Tell them I'm back. The only fighter Askarov didn't beat in his entire career was the Mexican Brandon Moreno. In September 2019, the Russian faced the former champion and the duel ended in a draw after 15 electrifying minutes. Askar has a record of 14 triumphs and only one draw in his record as a professional.
