Chimaev sees Adesanya as easier to beat than Usman: 'I'm going to take his head off'

Opponent of Gilbert Durinho No. UFC 273, Khamzat Shimaev seems to have his head already ahead of the duel against the Brazilian. During his participation in “MMA Hour”, a podcast on the “MMAFighting” website, the Russian-born Swedish citizen spoke about his desire to become not only welterweight champion (up to 77 kg), but also middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) of Ultimate.

During the interview, Khamzat Shimaev stated that he believed that Israel adesanya, middleweight champion, represents an easier challenge than Kamaru Usman, holder of the welterweight belt, and promised to “take the head off” the Nigerian in a possible duel in the future.

“Izzy, I think it would be easier for me to crush this guy than Kamaru Usman. He has zero wrestling. The guy he faced last time is not a wrestler and got his back. If I grab his back, brother, I squeeze him until his head comes out. I'll rip his head off. Easy money for me,” assured Chimaev.

Undefeated in professional MMA, Chimaev impressed at the start of his career in the UFC with four victories by interruption, three of which were in the first round and two of which were just ten days apart. Even though he knows he still has a way to go, the Swede believes he can become a two-division champion in the near future.
