After defeating Mauricio Shogun In the first round, the North American won the bonus for best submission of the show for the guillotine choke on the Brazilian. He won a prize of US$50, around R$120.
In addition to Sonnen, who was also awarded the bonus for best submission was Michael McDonald, who caught the Englishman Brad pickett with a tight triangle. The featherweights also won the best fight of the night award.
The bonus for best knockout of the night also went to two athletes. Travis Browne, who defeated alistair overeem and Matt Brown, who deleted Mike pyle, were awarded the same amount.
