Former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.) and well ranked in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg.) of the UFC, José Aldo was surprised by a challenge from Acelino 'Popó' Freitas right after fighting YouTuber Whidersson Nunes for a possible boxing match.

And, in an interview with the program 'The Night', of 'SBT', Aldo cited the contract with Ultimate as an impasse for the fight to get off the ground at the moment. He, however, criticized the challenge and revealed that he had received a million-dollar proposal from the 'Arab World' before renewing with the organization.

“I would even agree, depending on the money he offered me, but it is very difficult. (…) because I have a contract signed with the UFC and it is very difficult for them to release it. Not long ago, I received an offer to fight (boxing) in the Arab World, 1 million dollars, and the UFC didn't let me. So, it was stupid of him to try to do that. But it would be good,” said Aldo.

And do not stop there. The man from Manaus also stated that there would be no point in a fight with Popó and harshly insulted the four-time world champion.

PUBLICITY:

“But hitting the old man is f***ing. I'm active. The guy is old, retired and pot-bellied. He couldn't even knock out Whindersson (Nunes). He really tried, hitting really hard. Poor comedian Whindersson never threw a punch. Then you want to challenge. We are on our toes, fighting with the best in the world, at the best event in the world. The guy is really stupid”, he concluded.

Invited by Acelino, Aldo is having a great time within Ultimate. Today, the company's former featherweight champion is in line for a bantamweight title shot. At the moment, he is third in the rankings and has won a series of three in a row.
