In a new moment in MMA, Henry Cejudo plans to have another star in his career as a coach. The former double UFC champion once again bet his chips on the success of Khamzat Shimaev and offered to help the Swede in a possible superfight against Israel adesanya, projecting the athlete as a challenger for the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.) in the near future. The aid, however, would have conditions.

“The only problem is that I couldn't train Chimaev if he was going to face the 'Nigerian Nightmare' (Kamaru Usman). But I would train him against the freak of Israel adesanya. I'll certainly help you with this one, but if you're going to face it Kamaru Usman, I am out. It's up to you”, declared Cejudo in the 'Triple C & Schmo Show'.
Directly responsible for the success of Deiveson Figueiredo to the flyweight throne (up to 56,7kg.), Henry remains confident that Chimaev is not just a new promise in Ultimate. The former UFC champion believes in Khamzat's talent, who is undefeated in the company and continues to shine in his performances.
"Khamzat Shimaev it's true, but Gilbert Durinho also. Let's find out in UFC 273 if that’s all we believe in”, he concluded.
On April 9, the Ultimate student will make his first appearance in the 2021 season. The athlete will face the biggest challenge in his professional MMA career, when he faces the Brazilian, currently number two in the welterweight rankings. A triumph could guarantee the winner a chance to fight for the group's belt.
