Dustin Poirier rejects Colby Covington's challenge and guarantees that he will face Nate Diaz by August

Former interim lightweight champion, North American reinforces his desire to test himself against the 'boyfriend' of Ultimate fans

Challenged by Colby covington after the UFC 272, Dustin poirier doesn't seem to want commitments with his former teammate. A self-confessed opponent of 'Caos', the former UFC interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) is certain that he will face Nate diaz as the next opponent. In an interview with 'ESPN', the 'Diamond' spoke about the subject.

"Nate diaz It's a fight I want. It's more likely than the Colby fight. This summer, I believe it will happen”, said the fighter.

A standout in the lightweight division for years, Poirier is looking for a new profitable confrontation, but also to return to the path of victories within Ultimate. Current number two in the division rankings led by Charles of the Bronx, the athlete comes from a defeat against the Brazilian, in dispute for the group title.

One of the biggest audience leaders in UFC history, Diaz has already publicly expressed his desire to face Dustin. With a fight to end his contract with the organization, the veteran has even indicated a rush for the agreement, suggesting that he will retire afterwards.

Even with the desire of both parties, Ultimate continues without making the clash official. In June, Nate will complete a year without appearing in official fights.
