“I have great news, considering what happened. The C1 and C6 vertebrae were fractured but not dislocated, which is a good thing. There was no permanent damage and I will not need surgery. It means a lot to me that so many of you have been so kind. I'm very grateful. I’ll be fine”, declared the athlete, in his account on Twitter.
In the images (see below), it is possible to see the moment when Big E is thrown by his opponent and falls with his neck unprotected. Immediately after the fall, the fighter remains motionless, which caused concern among spectators. The scene was made available by the profile 'kiara j'.
“Prayers for Big E. This was terrible to watch. I hope you are well”, wrote the internet user.
According to a spectator, who also stated on Twitter that he was present at the show, the fighter left the arena on a stretcher. The athlete, however, would have given fans a thumbs up as he was taken to the hospital.
