Hired as Bare Knukle FC's new star, Chad Mendes is frightened by the possibility of the company negotiating with Francis Ngannou. A former UFC standout and, today, in 'bare-knuckle boxing', the fighter did not hide the thought of the dangers that the Ultimate heavyweight champion could bring to potential opponents. In an interview with 'Full Mount', the veteran clarified his position.

“I'll tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near this guy in 'bare-knuckle boxing'. Can you imagine this guy hitting you in the face with his 'clean hands'? He’s going to kill someone,” Chad said.

Former opponent of José Aldo for the Ultimate featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg), Mendes already speaks with some confidence about being tested in the sport. On February 19, the MMA veteran made his debut with the organization and brutalized Joshuah Alvarez with a fourth-round knockout.

“Other than the fists being sharp, and that is already brutal, in my opinion, (the Bare Knuckle) is easier than fighting MMA. Obviously, I haven't been to a bare-knuckle war, so I don't know exactly what it feels like. But, it's only two minutes per round, just boxing. You don’t have to worry about kicks, knees, elbows, grappling, and the money is very good”, concluded Chad.

Current UFC heavyweight champion, Ngannou is experiencing moments of uncertainty about his future. In public friction with the organization chaired by Dana White, the athlete had the last fight of his contract in January, when he crashed Cyryl Gane and unified the division title under 120,2kg.

With the belt and no contract, the fighter can be 'free on the market' from December 31st. The 'giant', who will undergo knee surgery, demands better payments and 'more freedom' from the organization.
