In the second most important fight of the UFC 272, event held this Saturday (5), Rafael dos Anjos e Renato Moicano they faced each other at catchweight (up to 72,6kg.). And, despite having his opponent changed the week of the event, the Rio native set an aggressive pace and managed to emerge victorious in the judges' unanimous decision over five rounds.

Dos Anjos, who would initially face Raphael Fiziev on the show, he showed that he didn't feel the change in opponent and returned to performing well. Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), the Rio native has a record of 31 triumphs and 13 setbacks in his professional career.

On the other hand, Moicano's streak of two victories has been broken and, after 20 days since his last performance, he has not achieved another triumph. Professional since 2010, he has a history of 15 positive results, four negatives and a draw.

The fight

The first round was marked by the intensity of both fighters. Moicano started with the high kick and measured the distance before Dos Anjso approached. Renato then tried to look for the back in the clinch, but was unable to be effective. Rafael crossed the left, clamped down and put the fight down. In a dominant position, he applied hard punches and elbows.

Dos Anjos came back better in his striking and found good combinations at close range. Moicano, in turn, invested in base changes and kicked low to unbalance the carioca. Rafael then invested in the grip for the takedown and returned to working a strong grappling rhythm with intensity until the end of the round.

With his face more injured, Moicano didn't give up and had a good time on his feet. He, however, felt a high kick applied by Dos Anjos and fell disoriented. Then, Rafael tried to press in sequence, but saw Renato recover. At halftime, the referee was called to assess the situation of the Brasilia native, who already had his eye completely closed, but allowed the fight to continue.

In the fourth round, Dos Anjos decided not to take any risks on his feet and managed a takedown. And, again with great pace, he lassoed Moicano's neck to try for a submission, but saw his compatriot make the save. From above, he cut Renato's forehead with hard elbows. The Ultimate doctor observed again and allowed the Brasilia native to return to the fifth round.

The last assault featured Renato Moicano in 'zombie mode' and, for the most part, had great moments in his striking, even swinging Rafael dos Anjos, who held on until the end and came out with the victory.
