Anderson Silva says he could face Jon Jones after rematch with Weidman

Former middleweight champion says that a superfight against the light heavyweight champion is everyone's wish and could finally happen

After being defeated by Chris Weidman at UFC 162, in July, Anderson Silva announced that he would retire from MMA. But after accepting the rematch against the North American in December, Spider is already looking at new challenges inside the Octagon.

Anderson revealed that after facing Chris Weidman, he can finally do the super fight against Jon Jones, current UFC light heavyweight champion. “I signed a new contract with the UFC (for ten fights). I hope that (the fight with Jones) happens, because it is a fight that everyone is waiting for”, said Spider on Rede Globo’s “Altas Horas” program.

The former middleweight champion, who holds the record for consecutive victories and title defenses, had his reign broken by Chris Weidman in a surprising way at UFC 162. Now, they face off again at UFC 168, an event that takes place on December 28th, in Las Vegas, in the United States.
