The fighter suffered a right groin strain while performing jiu-jitsu guard work.

Kevin-SouzaThe belt holder Jungle Fight Featherweight, Kevin Souza, is out of what would be his first title defense, in Foz do Iguaçu, on the 24th. He suffered a right groin strain while performing jiu-jitsu guard work.

“I had a strong rhythm and when I did a takedown defense movement, I felt that I pulled my muscle. It hurt a lot at the time. So I went to the doctor and the tests showed a muscle strain. Unfortunately I am out of this event. I communicated directly to the organization's staff, Wallid (Ismail, president of the Jungle Fight) understood the situation, gave me strength and now I have to wait, with lots of rest, to return to training soon”, he explained.

Despite regretting being left out of the event, Kevin, who has a record of 13 wins in 16 fights, guarantees that he will return even stronger in pursuit of his goals within MMA.

PUBLICITY:

“I always want to be active. I depend on my body and I need to obey everything the doctor prescribed. Rest, ice and anti-inflammatory. Unfortunately, I'm the one who loses the most from all of this, because if I don't fight, I won't pay my bills. I always thank my sponsors, because if it weren't for them, the situation would be even more unpleasant. However, I remain firm and I am convinced that when I recover from this strain, I will give even more of myself to keep this belt and grow in my career”, he concluded.
