“I do not pursue the legacy of Anderson Silva. Maybe I still have a few fights to go as the greatest champion, but it's all a matter of thinking about one fight at a time. I only feel the next fight, for the past is gone. I just want one fight at a time and I’m focused on that,” said Adesanya.

Israel is now in the final stages of its preparation for the rematch against Robert whittaker, valid by UFC 271. If he wins, he becomes the second fighter with the most title defenses (4) in the category, behind only himself. Anderson Silva (10)

Coincidentally, Adesanya and Silva faced each other on February 10, 2019, in the main fight of UFC 234. The three-round fight served as a 'baton pass' of the Spider to the Nigerian, who won in a unanimous decision by the judges.
