Deiveson confirms having given up on his fourth fight with Moreno and cites racism as the main factor; understand

Flyweight champion speaks exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS about his relationship with the Mexican and avoids generating expectations for a new clash

After performing in great style and regaining the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg.) in the trilogy against Brandon Moreno, Deiveson Figueiredo seems to have lost the desire to share the Octagon with the Mexican again. Less than a month after winning, the Brazilian spoke exclusively to SUPER LUTAS YouTube channel and vented about his relationship with his rival, in addition to ruling out a fourth fight under accusations of racism.

On January 22nd, at UFC 270, the 'God of War' entered the octagon for the third time with the Mexican. In 25 minutes of battle, the man from Pará showed progress and left the show with the triumph in the unanimous decision of the judges.

Friends? No way

Since being defeated by Brandon, in June 2021, Figueiredo has made a point of making his dissatisfaction with his rival public. At first, Moreno refused to give the Brazilian a rematch and, from that moment on, the friendly atmosphere outside the octagon ended. Some might imagine that the UFC 270 would mark the end of the feud, but Deiveson explains that it won't be like that.

“We have no relationship. When he releases us inside the Octagon, we're going to come out with a bang. He's a guy who doesn't convince me at all. Let him enjoy his vibe and I'll enjoy mine. He’s a guy I don’t like,” she said.

Is there still room for a fourth fight?

Those who followed Deiveson's interview, still in the octagon after his consecration, noticed that the man from Pará was willing to go to Mexico to have a fourth fight, at 'his rival's house'. Moments later, the Tupiniquim confessed to having changed his mind and now explains what made him give up the duel.

“I talked about this fight in Mexico, but I suffered some racist attacks from some Mexicans, the minority of those guys who have nothing to do. I'm taking action on this. I have prints, names. After I suffered these attacks, I simply gave up fighting against it. Brandon Moreno. I prefer to choose another opponent to fight,” concluded Figueiredo, who later clarified that the accusations are not directed at Brandon or members of his team.

On the mocas throne, Figueiredo still doesn't know when he will return to action to defend his belt. In the conversation, the Brazilian stated that he intends to take advantage of the time off before returning to training.
