"Hey guys. I'm here to announce that I'm retiring. God called me to something greater and when I hear God's voice, I obey. It's not easy. I'm just starting to improve, but one thing we learn is that God's plans are better than ours even when we don't want them or don't understand them. Thank you very much to everyone on this journey. Thank you to the UFC for taking care of me,” wrote Lima.
Finalist in the 19th and 25th seasons of the North American version of 'The Ultimate Fighter', when he was defeated respectively by Eddie Gordon and Jesse Taylor, Dhiego was coming off two consecutive defeats in Ultimate. The North American was surpassed by Belal Muhammad | and Matt Brown in his most recent performances.
A professional since 2010, Lima had 24 fights in his career in mixed martial arts. In his career, there were 15 triumphs and nine setbacks, including positive results over Chad Laprise and Court mcgee. The Brazilian is the brother of Douglas lima, who competes in Bellator.
