This Saturday, Adesanya will make his first appearance in the 2022 season. On the other side of the Octagon, the Nigerian will have an old acquaintance as his opponent.
In the first meeting with Whittaker, Israel showed his technique and managed to resoundingly beat one of the best middleweight representatives in the category's recent history. With a knockout in the second round, the Nigerian unified the title and assumed the absolute throne of the group.
The reckoning is scheduled for the UFC 271. After defeating three opponents and regaining his status as challenger, Robert seeks to regain his old title. To do this, the New Zealander will need to take away 'Izzy's' unbeaten record in the division and, consequently, prevent his opponent from defending his fourth belt.
