Former UFC champion bets on Jones' success among 'giants' and says: 'He will be the scariest in the heavyweight division'

Former teammate, Rashad Evans believes that the hiatus in the athlete's career served to improve qualities in his game

Even though there is no prediction of when fans will see Jon Jones back in action in the UFC, Rashad evans is optimistic about the debut of his former training partner at heavyweight (up to 120,2kg). One of 'Bones' victims in Ultimate, the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) was clear and objective in betting his chips on the legend's success in the new category.

“He's already at heavyweight, he's put in a lot of investment, time and has put in an arsenal of techniques in a heavyweight body. The way he handled the change of category is methodical and intelligent and I don't think it (the time away) was a waste. He will find a way to take control when he needs to, get out there and compete,” said Evans, in an interview with 'BJPenn.com'.

Jon's opponent and victim in 2012, Rashad seems to have no doubts about his former rival's success. The veteran went on to emphasize his good performance in his eventual return to MMA.

“How much do I think he can compete with those guys? 100%. I think that Jon Jones He’s one of the scariest guys in that division, with the exception of Francis (Ngannou)”, he concluded.

PUBLICITY:

Tipped for a future fight for the group's belt, Jon even stated that he is ready to return to action. A light heavyweight legend, the American hasn't performed in over two years.
