Scheduled to try to win the ONE Championship bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg.) next Friday (11), John Lineker tested positive for COVID-19 and had a fight with Bibiano Fernandes cancelled. The information was initially released by 'MMA fighting' and confirmed by the report of the SUPER FIGHTS.

“Unfortunately I tested positive. I feel really good, 100%. I left São Paulo, took the test – which came back negative – and boarded. We underwent a new test when we arrived in Singapore and I tested positive. I redid it, but the result was the same. They canceled the fight. There's no timetable for rescheduling, but I'm waiting. Unfortunately these things happen”, confirmed Lineker in contact with the SUPER FIGHTS.
It is not yet known for certain whether there will be a replacement or the fight will be rescheduled for a new date. The fight would initially take place in December, but it also ended up being canceled due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Lineker had a meteoric rise in ONE and, since arriving, he had three consecutive victories – the last two being knockouts. Known as 'Mãos de Pedra', the athlete was once one of the highlights of Ultimate and now has a record of 34 positive results and nine negative results in his career in mixed martial arts.
At 41 years old, Bibiano would return to acting after more than two years, when he beat Kevin Belingnon with a rear naked choke in the second round to defend his division belt. Manauara, however, was in long negotiations with the Asian organization and was inactive during the period. In his career, there are 28 fights – with 24 wins and four losses.
