The UFC announced this Tuesday an important duel in the middleweight category. The Cypriot Constantine Philippou goes to Canada to face the French Francis Carmont at UFC 165.

The fight will confront two of the biggest undefeated streaks in the UFC division. Philippou has not yet lost in the category, having won the five fights he has competed in. Number seven in the UFC rankings, he is the only top 10 player who has not yet played in 2013. The Cypriot would face Ronaldo Jacare at UFC No Combate 2, in Jaraguá do Sul, but had to withdraw due to a facial injury.

Despite being born in France, Carmont is based in Canada and will fight at home. He is also undefeated in five fights as a UFC middleweight. However, his last two wins, over Tom Lawlor and Lorenz Larkin, were controversial decisions.

UFC 165 is scheduled to take place on September 21st in Toronto. The event will be headlined by two title fights. In the most important fight of the night, Jon Jones defends the light heavyweight title against the Swede Alexander Gustafson. In the co-main bout, the Brazilian Renan Barao puts the interim bantamweight belt on the line against the North American Eddie Wineland.
