“So I’ve been in the hospital since Tuesday. I came here after a lot of coughing and shortness of breath that I developed after Covid. I'm not one to complain much, but if you haven't seen me at the gym or around, that's why. I ask that you send positive energy my way, other than that I don't want to say much until we know exactly what is happening”, reported Leben.

Chris Leben was one of the main figures in the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter, in 2005. The North American had a good start to his career in Ultimate, winning his first five fights in the octagon and being stopped only by Anderson Silva. His main moment in the organization was the surprising victory over Wanderlei Silva, in 2011, with a knockout just 27 seconds into the fight.

After four consecutive defeats between 2011 and 2013, Leben was released by Ultimate and announced his retirement from MMA. Five years later, in 2018, he returned to bare-knuckle boxing action, where he racked up three wins and just one setback before once again announcing his retirement.
