“I'll put it this way: I just saw how much the UFC heavyweight champion got paid, and it's going to be more than that (his Bare Knuckle FC salary). It's very crazy. I feel blessed, for sure,” Chad said.
According to figures released by the California Athletic Commission, Francis Ngannou received US$600 thousand (around R$3,2 million) in the duel against Cyryl Gane, UFC 270, which took place on January 22nd. The confrontation was valid for the unification of the heavyweight belt. Mendes did not reveal the exact amount he will receive in scholarships at his new home.
Retired since 2018, Mendes gave up hanging up his gloves and signed with Bare Knuckle FC, 'boxing without gloves'. The American will make his debut in his new home on February 19th, against Joshua Alvarez. The show will take place in Hollywood, Florida (USA).
