In a press conference held after the event, Strickland confessed that he felt pressured and regretted not having left Hermansson “more bloodied and bruised” at the end of the fight.

PUBLICITY:

“I let the pressure get to me. I knew I was better than him, you knew I was better than him. He was a guy that I probably shouldn't have finished, but he should have been more bloodied and bruised after the fight, but he wasn't. I took my foot off the gas and just went through the fight. I don't think I gave it my all, but that's the price of being shit. No bonus for me”

Sean Strickland stated that the reason for feeling pressured during the confrontation against Jack hermansson it was having heard from “suits” that he could compete for the middleweight belt soon.

PUBLICITY:

“None of you wear suits, so I can tell you this. There are a lot of motherfuckers in suits who come up to me and start talking about fighting for the belt and stuff like that. You hear this all the time and you start to wonder if you want to risk getting knocked out when you could be fighting for the title soon. So I let the fancy guys in suits distract me a little, but it won't happen again,” Strickland promised.
