Revenue from UFC 162 is the fifth highest for an MMA event in the state of Nevada

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) released the official attendance and revenue figures for UFC 162, held on July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The money raised was one of the top five in the state for MMA events.

UFC 162 drew 12.964 people to the MGM Grand Hotel. This audience generated income of US$4.826.450. In total, 10.157 tickets were sold, the UFC distributed another 2.807 and 798 were left at the box office. The average ticket cost for UFC 162 was US$475,18, more than double the average for UFC 160 tickets, the last event at the same location.

Overall, UFC 162's revenue was the fifth highest for an MMA event in the state of Nevada, according to information released by the MMA Weekly website. The lead comes from UFC 148, held in July last year, which featured a rematch between Anderson Silva e Chael Sonnen.

In the event, Chris Weidman he knocked out Anderson in the main fight and took the middleweight belt from the Brazilian star. The fighters will meet again on December 28th, again at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
