Challenging for the title in the first female fight in UFC history, North American Liz Carmouche rejects her status as favorite in the duel against Brazilian Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” Andrade. On the official Ultimate website, “Gilr-Rilla”, as she is known, praised Jéssica's record and adopted a respectful tone when talking about her next opponent.

“In the US, she is unknown and is coming without much fanfare, and that makes her a dangerous opponent. It's the same thing that happened to me. Nobody knew who I was, so nobody knew what to expect and they didn't expect anything from me, so you can come in much stronger and dominate. I know where she's coming from, and it's not an opportunity I'll give her. And she has nine wins and two losses, so she's not an underdog by any means, nor is she inexperienced. She is a veteran fighter. Her fights just happened to be in another country, so people here aren't familiar with her. I had a good opportunity to study videos of her and she is a little powerhouse. It’s going to be a good fight,” said Carmouche.
