After unifying the heavyweight belts (up to 120,2 kg) with a hard-fought victory over Ciryl Gane in the main fight of UFC 270, last Saturday (22), Francis Ngannou already sees a new challenge on the horizon. On Sunday morning (23), Tyson Fury, world boxing champion, congratulated and extended another invitation to the Cameroonian.

Fury's invitation did not go unanswered. Still on Sunday, Francis Ngannou responded to the Brit's “tweet” with a poster of the supposed fight between the two.

In the midst of a contractual imbroglio with the UFC, in which, to renew the contract, better conditions and permission to box are required, Francis Ngannou received US$600 (approximately R$3,2 million) for the fight against Ciryl Gane. The value takes into account exclusively the athlete's purse, leaving out earnings from pay-per-view, sponsors or any other bonus that the Cameroonian may have received.

The amount received by Ngannou last Saturday may seem high compared to the UFC's average payout, but it becomes almost irrelevant compared to the amounts received by Tyson Fury. Including pay-per-view earnings, it is estimated that the “Gipsy King” received around US$30 million (approximately R$164 million) for his most recent victory, in the trilogy against Deontay Wilder, in October 2021 .
