With just over a month to go until the duel against Islam makhachev, Beneil Dariush he doesn't mind being considered the 'zebra' of the confrontation. In an interview over the weekend UFC 270, the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) didn't pay attention to the odds and insisted that he has what it takes to win the fight, wherever it takes place.

“I didn't know the odds, but I think these are silly things. That's what I think. I don't care where the fight goes. I can do whatever I want,” Dariush said.
In preparation for facing Makhachev's feared grappling game, Dariush believes he has the solution to this problem and said that the Russian has yet to face a fighter of his caliber.
“I didn't see anyone really press him and it might be because they couldn't, they weren't well rounded enough. If you try to pressure him standing up, he takes you down. If you try to apply a little jiu-jitsu, your fight is so good that he won't allow it. From what I saw, they weren't able to pressure him because they didn't have enough skills, the roundness needed to do that. And I think I'm the guy to do it”, concluded 'Benny'.
Beneil Dariush e Islam makhachev will be the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 49, which is scheduled for February 26th. The winner of the confrontation should be very close to a fight for the lightweight belt, currently held by the Brazilian charles do brox.
