Dethroned in UFC 270, held this Saturday (22), in Anaheim (USA), Brandon Moreno did not agree with the defeat suffered by points against Deiveson Figueiredo. Defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges, the Mexican expressed his feelings when he saw the Brazilian emerge victorious in the co-main fight. The clash represented a historic trilogy in flyweight (up to 56,7kg) and was worth the group title.

“It’s a strange feeling. It's the first time in my life that I've lost on points, but I feel like I won. I remember my last defeats, against (Alexandre) Pantoja, (Alex) Perez. I understood that I lost. This time, I feel like I won,” said Moreno, in a press conference after the show.

Responsible for taking the belt from Deiveson himself in June 2021, Moreno, however, showed maturity in dealing with the situation. Even though he disagreed with the judges, the athlete said he understood the position.

“Things are like that. It was a very tough fight. He had great moments, I have to admit. I'm not going to be the guy who finds excuses. Deiveson did an incredible job. I just want to get back to the gym, spend time with family, watch the fight again and come back stronger,” he concluded.
