“I think he’s unbelievable. One of the best for sure. He is a true finisher and extremely complete in all facets of the game,” said Penn.

B.J. Penn is, next to Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC lightweight title defense record holder, with three. The Hawaiian, however, believes that Charles of the Bronx has everything to surpass this number.

PUBLICITY:

"Absolutely. If there is anyone who can (break the record), my money is on Charles, for sure. I remember when he finished Kevin Lee, right then I thought: 'this is the guy who can beat Khabib'. So he dominated Tony Ferguson, who is also a great fighter. He’s super impressive,” said the former champion.

Speaking of Khabib Nurmagomedov, also a former lightweight champion, who retired undefeated in professional MMA, B.J. Penn believe that Charles of the Bronx he has the necessary tools to have put the Russian's invincibility at risk.

PUBLICITY:

“What are your holes? You drop it and you're in a world of confusion. Standing up, he can knock you out. I'm not guaranteeing that he would have beaten Khabib, but I certainly wouldn't bet against him”, analyzed the Hawaiian.

B.J. Penn, who in addition to reigning in the lightweight division also won the welterweight division (up to 77 kg), advised Charles of the Bronx about your next step. The Hawaiian stated that the Brazilian should face Conor McGregor in your next fight.

“Now this may be the most popular opinion, but if I am Charles Oliveira, I would face Conor McGregor in sequence. Who knows how long McGregor will be around? Oliveira is on a crazy winning streak and has the record for submissions in history, he can ask for this fight”, concluded Penn.
