In a video published on its official YouTube channel last Sunday (16), Khamzat Shimaev He spoke again about his desire to face Durinho and said he was “more Brazilian” than his possible rival.
“Everyone is talking about me, but no one wants to face me, because I'm going to kill everyone. It does not matter to me. Gilbert Burns talked about fighting in Brazil. I'm more Brazilian than him because my coach is Brazilian. I'm a blue belt under Alan 'Finfou' (Nascimento). I know how many times my coach crushed Burns on the mats. I'll strangle him. Khamzat Shimaev praised Gilbert Durinho, said he liked his rival, but said he was ready to put his feelings aside in the octagon and considered a possible confrontation on Brazilian soil.
“I like this guy, actually. He's fun, a nice guy. I want to face him. But in war, brother, I can't be nice to anyone. I want to eat everyone. Take my money. Get my belt. I am starving. When I talk about fighters, I get hungry. I hope we can fight in Brazil. Good country, with good people”, concluded Chimaev.
Durinho's response didn't take long to appear. Through social media, the Brazilian welterweight suggested a duel against Chimaev in a five-round main fight in Brazil.
“Make it happen, Dana White. I'm all in. Five rounds. Let’s fight”, wrote Durinho.
