The big moment is coming. Less than a week until the historic clash against Francis Ngannou, Cyryl Gane seems to be 'on the tip of its hooves'. Interim UFC heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg), the Frenchman was 'caught' in a training session and drew attention for injuring his coach, Fernand Lopez, after a low kick. The athlete makes his season debut at UFC 270, this Saturday (22).

“The strength is real, ladies and gentlemen,” Lopez wrote on her Instagram account.

In the images (see below), it is possible to see Gane training combinations. Afterwards, the power of the interim champion's low kick forced the coach to momentarily interrupt the practice.

This weekend, Ciryl tries to make history and take over the absolute top spot in the heavyweight division. To do so, the athlete will have to overcome the enormous strength of one of the most feared athletes in recent MMA history.

Owner of the interim belt since August, Gane will also step into the Octagon with an extra weight. The fighter defends his invincibility in mixed martial arts. In 10 appearances in the sport, the Frenchman doesn't know what it's like to lose.

If fans on one side see a dangerous fighter, the other doesn't miss out. Linear heavyweight champion since dethroning Stipe Miocic, Ngannou faces an old training acquaintance. With five knockout victories in a row, the French-Cameroonian is trying to stop his opponent's rise.
