Current flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg), Juliana Velasquez already knows who her next challenger will probably be. Bellator president Scott Coker confirmed ex-UFC Liz Carmouche as the Brazilian fighter's next opponent and stipulated the possible date of the confrontation. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

“I believe this fight will happen in April. I think that was when they told us that (Juliana) Velasquez would be ready to fight. As soon as she's ready, we'll get this fight (against Liz Carmouche), but I think April is the date,” said Cooker.
Juliana won the flyweight belt in December 2020 by defeating Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, in a unanimous decision by the judges. In July 2021, the Brazilian fighter made her first title defense and in a super balanced confrontation, she beat Denise Kielhotz with a split decision. Undefeated in MMA, the Brazilian athlete has won 12 consecutive victories since her professional debut in 2014.
