Former strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg.) and target of desire for a large part of the division, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will return to compete in the UFC in 2022. Without acting since March 2020, the Polish confirmed her return and announced her interest in a rematch against the Chinese Weili Zhang for your next role in the organization.

“Everyone thinks I’m not in the UFC anymore, but I am. I just left the rankings, because I haven't fought in a long time. But I'm coming back and fighting number one. It will probably be Weili Zhang”, stated Jedrzejczyk in an appearance on the program 'Canal Sportowy', in Poland.
Wanting to return, Joanna admitted that her first intentions were Carla esparza e Marina Rodriguez. However, the two athletes already have other commitments and, therefore, are not available for a confrontation.
“I thought I was going to (face) Carla esparza, but it has already been confirmed that she is the next to fight for the belt (against Rose namajunas). (Marina) Rodriguez will also fight (Xiaonan) Yan. So the desire to face Weili Zhang remains. I don't see another fight – just for the belt. Dana (White) made me an offer to fight for the title, but I would have to wait until November or December. And I don't want to wait. I want to fight”, added the Polish woman.
In her last appearance, Joanna fought one of the best fights in the history of mixed martial arts against Zhang at UFC 240. The Polish woman was defeated in a split decision by the judges, in addition to a large swelling on her head.
At 33 years old, Jedrzejczyk has a record of 16 triumphs and four setbacks as a mixed martial arts professional. She was strawweight champion (up to 52,2 kg) from March 2015 to November 2017. In total, there were five successful title defenses.
