Dana White praises Joe Rogan's importance for the growth of MMA: 'He deserves a lot of credit'

Ultimate leader praises commentator for contributing to introducing new fans to mixed martial arts

A big name in the Ultimate hall for his comments at events, Joe Rogan participated in historic moments throughout the organization. And, for this reason, president Dana White made a point of praising him when talking about his contribution to the growth of mixed martial arts, especially for bringing the rules of the sport with the aim of understanding what was going on in fights of the most diverse styles.

“One guy who deserves a lot of credit for helping build this sport is Joe Rogan. The reality is, when we got into this, everyone understood fighting on their feet no matter what. Punches, kicks, elbows – we all understand that. The big thing for us was when he goes to the ground. How are people going to really understand what is happening and what they are seeing? Because if you've never practiced jiu-jitsu, you don't know what they're doing,” White said while participating in the program.The Fight with Teddy Atlas'.

According to the agent, Rogan conveyed conviction and understanding of MMA as he was already passionate about the sport before even commenting on it.
