Close to the top 5, the category legend envisions a confrontation with José Aldo, which is going through a great phase. Instead of provoking, the American chose to exalt the legacy of the 'People's Champion'.

“I've been hearing from some people (about the opportunity to face Aldo). I didn't make a decision, I didn't speak to (Sean) Shelby (responsible for confirming UFC fights). I hear more about the clash of legacies that never happened between Aldo and me. It's right there. (…) I think it’s an interesting fight for the world. Facing Aldo is an honor,” said Cruz, in an interview with 'The MMA Hour'.

The praise for Aldo didn't stop there. Considered one of the biggest names in the history of bantamweight, Dominick recognizes the evolution of the Brazilian, who has charted a successful trajectory in the group up to 61,2kg, even assuming a prominent position.

“Think about the things the guy did. He had ups and downs in his career and now he has made a respectful comeback. The fight makes sense, but I'll take it easy. We need to talk and see what happens,” he concluded.

Current number seven in the group, Cruz is coming off a great victory over Peter Munhoz. Just like Dominick Aldo also had a great performance in the last challenge, when he beat the dangerous Rob font, and took third place in the category.
