In preparation for his first defense of the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg), Francis Ngannou is confident that it will put an end to the 'hype' surrounding Cyryl Gane. In a statement made on his YouTube channel, the French-Cameroonian praised the interim champion of the category, but believes that he is more of a fighter than his opponent and that he will emerge victorious in the confrontation that is worth unifying the titles.

“He’s good and he’s only going to get better. He's good, he's good. He's talented, that's for sure and that's the reason he's there where he is. Now, I'm just better, man. I'm just the man who's going to stop the hype and I'm looking forward to getting this fight. Because what's really funny about this is everyone talks about this guy's hype,” Ngannou said.
Former training partners, Francis Ngannou e Cyryl Gane intensified their rivalry in recent weeks, including a 'tense encounter' backstage at an Ultimate event. The two athletes will make the long-awaited 'reckoning' in the UFC 270, scheduled for January 22nd. The fighters will perform in the main fight of the show and the winner will become the absolute champion of the under-120,2kg category.
