Already thinking about a reunion with Anderson Silva, after the victory achieved last Saturday (6) at UFC 162, Chris Weidman will have surgery to correct a small problem in his right knee. In the coming days, the new middleweight champion will undergo arthroscopy to remove bone fragments present in the joint.

“The surgery will only put me out of action for two weeks. So, I'm going back to training”, Weidman told the newspaper “Los Angeles Times”, ruling out any possibility of a longer break that would hinder plans for a new fight against Anderson. In fact, the North American is sure that the rematch will actually happen. “The duel would be very profitable and the UFC wants it to happen. So, I have no doubt. Anderson Silva will be my next opponent”, he stated.
