Still in the octagon, minutes after losing the middleweight belt to Chris Weidman at UFC 162, Anderson Silva declared that he would no longer fight for the title. At the press conference, the Brazilian stated that he would think about the matter in a few months. Even in the face of the former champion's reticence, a reunion between Spider and Chris Weidman It is the will of Ultimate and its manager, Ed Soares, who spoke about the subject on the “MMA Hour” podcast.

“We’re going to have to sit back and let the dust settle. What other fight makes sense other than a rematch? Now that's the last thing on our minds. What I want to see is Anderson with his family, hanging out with people who unconditionally care about him, whether he's champion or not, winning or losing, knocking out or being knocked out. He just needs to be with them, gather his thoughts and define what his next step will be”, said the agent.

Soares also spoke about the Brazilian's behavior in the octagon. “Anderson went there and teased him (Chris Weidman), doing certain things that he does from time to time. There's a possibility he took it too far this time. And he wasn't able to come away with the victory, unfortunately. Anderson has a tendency to walk a tightrope when it comes to taking risks. That's part of the reason why people like to watch him fight, because he takes those kinds of risks. Unfortunately, on Saturday night, it didn’t happen his way”, lamented the Spider’s manager.

Last Saturday (6), Anderson Silva suffered his first defeat in Ultimate when he was knocked out by Chris Weidman in the main fight of UFC 162. Despite the comments, there is still no official information about a possible rematch. There is speculation that the reunion between Weidman and Silva could take place in December or February of next year.

I am absolutely sure, from what I saw and everyone saw, that Anderson Silva sold out, was part of the “circus”, put on a bad act. For me, the UFC lost its credibility and Anderson Silva lost his honor. It's a shame for us, Brazilians, who depend so much on idols!

ANDERSON IS STILL THE BEST... CHRIS HAD TREMENDOUS LUCK AND ANDERSON WAS VERY UNLUCKY IN HAPPENING THAT BLOW... BECAUSE IF ANDERSON HAD NOT TAKEN IT OUT... HE WOULD ELIMINATE CHRIS RIGHT THEN... AS SOON AS HIS OPPONENT WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO TAKE DOWN -LO... I BELIEVE THAT THE REMATCH WILL HAVE NO OTHER RESULT... THAN A BIG KNOCK OUT OF THE CURRENT CHAMPION.

WELL, PRETENDING THAT WE BELIEVE IN ALL OF THIS, I THINK ANDERSON SHOULD BE PUNISHED BY NOT HAD THE REMATCH, THE FIGHT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO BELFORT, WHO, IN THE OPINION OF ANDERSON'S FRIENDS, MAY BE INFERIOR, HOWEVER, IS CERTAINLY A MORE MAN AND MORE WORTHY!!!!!!!!
ANDERSON'S MINIONS MUST AGREE ON THIS!
