Pedrita apologizes after fingering his rival in the eye to try to escape a rear-naked choke and justifies action

Representative of the flyweights (up to 56,7kg.) of Ultimate, Priscila Pedrita spoke out after the controversial scene that occurred in UFC 269. The Brazilian, who was involved in moments of tension, when she tried, twice, to Touch Gillian Robertson's eye with your thumb to escape a rear naked choke, was explained. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', Tupiniquim apologized and guaranteed that the action was involuntary.

“I didn’t mean to touch her eye when she was behind my back. I didn't know it (the finger) was going towards her eye. My intention was to reach her neck and pull. I was desperate, almost snoring. It’s a question of survival, right?” said the Brazilian.

In order to clarify the controversy, Pedrita assured that the moment was nothing more than an isolated situation. The flyweight also confirmed that she had already spoken personally with Robertson.

“I'm a professional and I've already apologized to her in person, also on Instagram. Gilliam was really nice. Criticism will arrive. She has no other way. I will wait for the dust to settle and work to come back stronger,” she concluded.

Last weekend, Priscila took to the octagon in search of her second consecutive victory. The Brazilian, however, was unable to repeat her last performances and ended up submitted in the final seconds of the first round.
