“The situation is what it is, but what I'm trying to do is not let anything enter my mind for the fight. At the end of the day, I'm not allowed to be distracted by anything. The decision will be if I make a mistake because I am distracted by everything around me. I prepared for this fight, so I better take it seriously and focus on it. It doesn't matter what happens outside. We will deal with it later,” said Ngannou.

Asked about the invincibility of Cyryl Gane, the French-Cameroonian gave little importance to the fact and emphasized that defeats are also part of a fighter's evolution process.

“An undefeated opponent means nothing. To me, being undefeated means he has a lack of experience because it's not the full experience. Losing a fight is part of the learning process. So if you haven't been there, you can't understand something. I think this is the problem. I've fought undefeated fighters before, so it's not my first time. I know how it is. You may be undefeated, but when you step into that ring, it's just you and your opponent and nothing matters at that point,” concluded Ngannou.

The conflict between Francis and UFC began after the organization arranged the duel between Derrick Lewis e Cyryl Gane, valid for the interim heavyweight belt. At the time, the champion claimed to be healthy and criticized the creation of the temporary title. Among other complaints, the French-Cameroonian harshly criticized the salary he received from the company chaired by Dana White.

The long-awaited duel between Francis Ngannou e Cyryl Gane is scheduled for the UFC 270, scheduled for January 22nd. The show will also feature the long-awaited trilogy between Brandon Moreno e Deiveson Figueiredo, winning the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg). The show will be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California (USA).
