Strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas reinforces her desire for a rematch with Carla Esparza

Just over seven years after the first confrontation, the rematch between Rose namajunas e Carla esparza seems to be getting closer and closer to actually happening. Current strawweight champion (up to 52,2kg), 'Thug Rose' admitted that she would like to defend her title against the veteran, currently number two in the rankings.

“It's the only (fight) that makes sense, I can fight anyone, but nothing really interests me other than Carla. I think she was sitting back and waiting for her title shot and that wasn't the best move, but honestly I think it makes sense. Make it happen,” said Rose.

The two athletes shared the octagon for the first time in December 2014, in a duel valid for the final of the twentieth edition of the 'The Ultimate Fighter'. The confrontation ended with the victory of Carla esparza, by submission, in the third round. With the triumph, 'Cookie Monster' won the 'Reality Show' title and became the first champion in the history of the 52,2kg division.
