Charles from the Bronx responds to a challenge made by Conor McGregor: 'how about this weekend?'

After defending the lightweight title for the first time (up to 70,3 kg) by finishing Dustin poirier in the main fight of UFC 269, last Saturday (11), Charles of the Bronx was challenged by the former category champion, Conor McGregor, who used social media to ask when he would face the Brazilian. The current champion didn't take long to respond.

Last Monday night (13), Charles of the Bronx responded to McGregor's challenge by stating that he is ready and suggesting next weekend as the date for the duel.

“How about this weekend? I'm ready, I'm still in town and we have an event coming up. Come on, baby”, replied Charles.

The event to which Charles of the Bronx refers to is the UFC Las Vegas 45, the last Ultimate event of the year, which takes place this Saturday (18) and features a duel between heavyweights (up to 120,2 kg) in the main fight. Derrick Lewis e Chris Daukas.

Despite mutual desire, the fight between Charles of the Bronx e Conor McGregor happen soon. The Irishman is recovering from a serious injury suffered in the defeat to Dustin poirier, in July this year. Furthermore, UFC president Dana White has already confirmed Justin gaethje as the next challenger for the lightweight belt.
