Upon noticing Michael's post on social media, Patrick Pitbull, responsible for dethroning the North American lightweight division, for Bellator, in 2019, wasted no time and needled his former rival. In direct response, the Brazilian 'poked' the former champion at his competitor.

“You turned your back on Charles and ran away from being finished. You withdrew against (Justin) Gaethje. Also, let's not forget that he asked Will Brooks (MMA athlete) for some time off. Shut up. You’ve been pathetic,” Pitbull countered.
