One of the biggest attractions on the main card of the UFC 269 this Saturday (11), cody garbrandt did not manage to do well in his debut in the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg.). Slower, the North American suffered from the brunt of blows from Kai Kara France and ended up knocked out in the first round.

Former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), Garbrandt is going through the worst moment of his career. With a sequence of five defeats in the last six fights, the American has a record of 12 triumphs and five setbacks.

Kai Kara France, on the other hand, recorded his second consecutive victory in the division and now has a record of 23 positive results, nine negative results and one draw in his career in MMA. He even asked to face the winner of the trilogy between Deiveson Figueiredo e Brandon Moreno for the flyweight title.

THE FIGHT

In his new division, Garbrandt seemed faster and, active, connected good blows at short range. Kai Kara France, however, he was skittish and knew how to react with a right-wing bomb. The North American still resisted and tried to return automatically, but the New Zealander managed to land other brutal blows to knock out his opponent until referee Herb Dean interrupted.
