Arrested for a few days UFC 269, accused of drunk driving, Geoff neal spoke for the first time about the controversy that occurred last week. Promising welterweight (up to 77kg.) and confirmed as an opponent for Santiago Ponzinibbio This weekend, the fighter clarified the problem with justice.

“I have not yet been charged with any crime. They (prosecution) probably have probable cause and, instead of taking a breathalyzer test, I chose to take a blood test. I'm waiting for the results to think about it”, said the fighter, in conversation with the press at 'Media Day'.
The news of Neal's arrest moved the MMA world last Friday (3). In addition to the suspicion of drunk driving, the fighter was also accused of illegal possession of a weapon. Geoff then narrated part of what happened.
“It was a one-night situation. I decided to relax with my girlfriend. We had a few drinks and the situation happened. Then the police got involved. I had my gun, which is legal. It is registered in my name. They made it seem like I had a MAC-10 (model of firearm) on my lap and I was driving drunk,” he said.
Willing to defend himself, Geoff was surprised by the impact of the incident. The athlete stated that the situation was, according to him, escalated.
“It’s not as serious as they made it seem. It's not like I was really drunk, hungover, driving down the streets. It was an isolated case”, he guaranteed.
Even with the personal problem, Neal remains confirmed in UFC 269. The fighter will have one of the most important clashes of the event, when he faces Santiago Ponzinibbio.
