Of all the recent opponents of Anderson Silva, none received as much morale as Chris Weidman. In the opinion of several fighters, coaches and analysts, the North American is the challenger who requires the most care from the UFC middleweight champion. But for Ramon Lemos, Spider's head coach, none of this shakes him.
“In the last fights with the Chael Sonnen, people said, 'My God, he's going to put him down and do this or that!', Lemos told the Combate channel website. “With Vitor (Belfort), it was, 'The guy has a left-handed player who is a monster, he's going to come in fulminating!' (Yushin) Okami was the strongest Japanese of all and so on. So, every time they create a superhero to face Anderson, but people forget that he is Spider!”
Anderson and Weidman face each other this Saturday in the main fight of UFC 162, in Las Vegas. First, they will have to step on the scale for the official weigh-in for the event, this Friday. The Brazilian is trying to achieve his eleventh consecutive defense of the UFC middleweight belt. His rival seeks, in addition to the title, to maintain his unbeaten record in MMA, currently with nine fights.
