Predicted as one of the main fights at the beginning of 2022, the rematch between Israel adesanya e Robert whittaker for the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.), scheduled for the UFC 271 on February 12th may not happen. In an interview with 'Submission Radio', the Nigerian's manager, Eugene Bareman, stated that the Australian is showing insecurity in getting the duel off the ground.

“Rob (Whittaker) and his wonderful manager cannot guarantee this fight and are in a panic. Let us take care of the business, because you are incapable. This administrative team is incapable. So we'll just take care of the business side of things. And stop posting indirect comments on social media, because that doesn’t solve anything and only shows that you’re insecure about the fight,” said Bareman.

Despite the 'ultimatum', Eugene also considered promoting a fight between Adesanya and Whittaker in a stadium in Australia in the future, but stated that another fighter could 'jump the queue' for the middleweight title.

“Maybe we can have this fight in a big stadium in Australia. Maybe it's the right thing to do. We may put someone else in the title in February. (Whittaker) had the fight for the title, but now he may have to be overtaken”, he concluded.
