Moreno warns of 'fake people' around Deiveson and reveals upset with Cejudo

Flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg.), Brandon Moreno prepares for the trilogy in front of Deiveson Figueiredo, which is scheduled to take place in UFC 270 on January 22nd. In an interview with the podcast 'The MMA Hour', when asked about the 'war of words' with the Brazilian, the Mexican stated that 'fake people' surround his rival.

“He has his own version of the story and I have my own trajectory, but he is surrounded by fake people who can hinder him. I'm tired and I don't care anymore. People can judge that. At the same time, journalist and presenter Ariel Helwani questioned whether the champion was talking about the Brazilian's manager, Wallid Ismail. However, Brandon stopped talking and tried to say that he feels upset about Henry Cejudo be helping an opponent.

“I didn't say anything, but it's interesting to note that I didn't even need to quote him (Wallid Ismail) and you said it. I am grateful to Henry (Cejudo) for helping me on my journey. I went to Ultimate Fighter and he chose (Alexandre) Pantoja and ignored me. I joined Benavidez's team, I managed to learn new techniques and have a different perception of fighting. And now, that's it (Cejudo training with Deiveson). It was a sad part of life, but we carried on,” he concluded.

On that occasion, the athletes drew in a duel considered one of the best of the year – with the Brazilian retaining the title. In the rematch, however, the Mexican submitted him with a rear naked choke on the UFC 263, in July of this year.
