Just a few days before his debut in the UFC flyweight division (up to 56,7kg), cody garbrandt already presents a significant change in his physical constitution. Former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), the athlete is preparing for one of the biggest challenges of his career. On December 11, the combatant faces Kai Kara France and hopes to kickstart his dream of winning his second title in the organization.

In the most delicate moment of his professional MMA career, Garbrandt decided to go to flyweight once and for all after the defeat he suffered against Rob font, in May. The stumble marked the athlete's fourth setback in his last five appearances.

Still with prestige within Ultimate, Cody was selected as a challenger for the flyweight belt in the 2020 season. On that occasion, the North American would face the then champion Deiveson Figueiredo. The athlete, however, ended up leaving the confrontation in the UFC 255 and gave way to Alex Perez.

At age 30, Garbrandt reaches UFC 269 surrounded by suspicions about his ability to repeat the success of years ago, now, in the flyweight division. Last week, his December opponent ended up saying that the former champion will disappoint.
