Just over a year after announcing his retirement, Henry Cejudo may be close to returning to the octagon. According to his manager Ali Abdelaziz, 'Triple C' should fight again in 2022 and asked for a direct duel against the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) Alexander Volkanovsky. The statement was given in an interview with the website 'MMA fighting'.

“Of course Max (Holloway) deserves (the title shot) too, but I think the timing will be great because Henry can fight in February and Max can fight the winner (against Volkanovski). You have Alexander, Max and a huge gap and then you have someone like Giga (Chikadze) who has a seven-fight winning streak. I think it's the perfect time for Henry to come in and see what he can do in the division. If he wins, he can fight Max and after that he can fight Giga. It’s a very big fight,” declared Abdelaziz.
Considered one of the greatest fighters of Ultimate's recent years, Cejudo retired at just 33 years old in May 2020. Former bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) and featherweight (up to 65,7kg) champion, Henry hung up his gloves with a record of 16 triumphs and two setbacks in professional MMA.
